Rodrick Holloman Honors Literature Mrs. Pierce 9/14/12 In the novel The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins protagonist Katniss Everdeen lives is a verdant called Panem. It is the remains of what drug abuse to be the unify States before it was dissolved by droughts, storms and acclivitous seas. In the country of Panem their 12 Districts with different characteristics and kinds of multitude that watch their areas. The 12th variance has two different social divisions to it The assembly line and Square. Katniss, her mama and her sister live in the 12 District. This district is know for its abundance in coal and starvation which is vulgar amongst the mass. The people here are defeated and all mentally controlled by their environment. The 12th district is a very blue place. present the people all are usually starvation and drop down into their oppressed spirits. Here the people are miners that brace up every morning to head t o shift of duty. last ferocity and women with their hunched shoulders, swollen knuckles and dont so far try to remove the dust from their hands and body anymore. They fly the coop all the time usually just trying to chip their families. With subpar wages around cant even nurse way the services of a doctor. District 12 is and continues to be the tail of the country Panem.

Here the people have no region and are not seen are cared for. This District is touch by a high chain-link fence that helps keeps creatures from coming bug out of the woods. Its speak up to be electrified daily but since the people only operate the maximum of 3 hours! of electricity it has it subterfuge periods. From this small window inhabitants sneak into the woods to hunt for foods for their families. nearly of the grainy they deal out is sold in the cruddy market called the Hob where Katniss earns well-nigh of her money. If she doesnt sell her game she keeps it to feed the family. Even though poaching and trespassing in the woods is illegal most of the people dont listen to these laws.
