The Blind Man         The storyteller in Raymond Carvers Cathedral is non a particularly sen positionive mi lightenary earthly concern. I might describe him as self-centered, superficial and egotistical. (Carver 1052) Clearly, the narrator can not see past Roberts disability; he enkindlees him in the same way a racist might discharge a black man. In reality, any prejudice be it base on gender, backwash or disability involves one persons unfitness to look past a superficial quality. The narrator has unconsciously placed Robert in a category that he labels abnormal, which stops him from seeing the fraud man as an individual.         The narrators reaction to Roberts individuality shows his stereotypical views.
